Overview

Tasman District Council is responsible for a substantial geographic area at the top of the South Island - from Murchison to Golden Bay and Nelson Lakes. A diverse array of communities small and large, urban and rural, are scattered throughout the district, along with two National Parks, and natural environments that range from alpine mountains to isolated coastal estuaries.

Nelmac have held the contract for Open Space Asset Management services since 2013 and have recently been re-awarded the contract for a further 5+1+1 years. This renewal is testament to Nelmac’s track record, the integrity of its long-term ecology-based solutions and its commitment to innovative thinking and technology.

Neighbourhood, Street Gardens, Esplanade Parks and Reserves

Pruning, hedge trimming, weed control, mulching, plants maintenance, planting programmes, irrigation systems, annual bedding displays, park furniture maintenance, graffiti removal, walkway and track maintenance, playground inspections and maintenance, litter control, water feature maintenance, revegetation establishment and maintenance, mowing and edging.

Sportsfields

Cricket wicket/block renovations and preparation, fertilising programmes, fungicide/insecticide programmes, herbicide programmes, line marking, goal post installation, fine turf mowing, general sports ground mowing, rugby ground preparation, renovation programming, irrigation system operation, grounds open and closure, reporting.

Horticultural parks

Annual bedding displays, rose maintenance, pruning, hedge trimming, weed control, mulching, plant maintenance, planting programmes, irrigation systems operation, park furniture maintenance, walkway and track maintenance, litter control, water feature maintenance, fine turn mowing and edging, display houses.

Conservation

Weed control programmes and implementation, revegetation projects and programmes, track maintenance.

Arboriculture

Tree pruning, removals, street tree maintenance, heritage tree inspection, consultancy and reporting.

Cemetery maintenance

Burials and ash internments, sexton services, grave maintenance and top ups, grounds maintenance.
