A tall redwood heritage tree was at risk of losing branches in strong winds. Nelmac was hired to prune it, with redwoods requiring a specific process to follow. After several site visits and liaison with Council staff, an operations plan was put into action. Traffic management was required and Nelmac staff worked with land owners. Because the tree was protected, Nelmac sought consents from the land owner.
Site access issues, lane closures, and the height of the tree all presented challenges during the project. With advance planning and expert skills by Nelmac arborists, the pruning went to plan and the client was pleased. All health and safety precautions were taken and no incidents were logged.
