Steve Price

Operations Manager – Conservation, Nelson, Marlborough, Tasman

Steve has worked extensively in pest management since the early 80’s through monitoring, controlling and eradicating plant, insect and animal pests on land, lakes and rivers. He has experience in a wide range of control measures including trapping, bait-laying (including Pindone and 1080), aerial poisoning, night shooting, pesticides and ground work management.


His environmental education work has included specialisation in aquatic weed pests (incl. Lagroshyphon, Spartina and Dydimo) and he holds long standing working relationships with TB Free NZ, Regional Councils, DOC and the rural sector. Steve was the Senior Technical Advisor for Otago Regional Council before his move to the Top of the South and served for 12 years in the NZ Volunteer Fire Service including four years at reaching officer stage
