About NELMAC
NELMAC is a Council Controlled Trading Organisation (CCTO) that was formed in 1995. Until then it had been an operational arm of Nelson City Council. NELMAC is still 100% owned by Nelson City Council with a staff of over 140 and an annual turnover of more than $15 million.
NELMAC’s relationship to the council is as a contractor providing practical services and solutions for the maintenance of the City’s infrastructural assets. The knowledge and experience developed by the NELMAC staff over many years of successful involvement with the community means they have a genuine sense of ‘ownership’ when it comes to taking care of the local environment. NELMAC also regularly contributes sponsorship to local charities and community groups.
